A CHEERFUL GIVER OR A GRUMBLING GIVER

It’s surprising the various motives and force that drives many to give
As much as many tend to give and release unto God
Many of the act of giving are not right and pleasant in the sight of God.
The shocking aspect of this is that out of the 100% of those who tend to give are “GRUMBLING GIVERS”
Those who are giving because they have been sweet talked and compelled to
Those who are giving out of duress
Those who are giving for the show and fantasy of it
Those who are giving just to be reckoned with and recognize amidst the population of other givers
Those who are giving  to entice
Those who are giving  for the praise of men
Those who are giving for record purpose
Those who are giving just to hear someone say “Thank You”

Ahhh! Lord have mercy!
Recall the account of Annanias and Sapphira  in Acts 5:1-11
They were not forced by Apostle Peter to give nor were they cajoled or compelled to give by anyone.
But just because they were moved by Joses cheerful giving which was done with a upright heart and love for God’s assignment and His people, they thought that lieing their way through will unleash the accolade and recognition they seek for.
They allowed satan use them to lie against the Spirit of Truth, The Holy Spirit.
They sold their land and instead of giving the totality of all the proceed made from the sale they chose to withhold some, while they lied that the money they had brought was all the proceed from the sale.
What a great mistake they made on their part!
To have lied against the Holy Spirit and still expect blessings from Him in return
God forbid!

Many are just like Ananias and Saphiras when it comes to giving
When God looks deep into the heart of many givers what He see is:
Lieing Givers
Sinful Givers
Slothful Givers
Grumbling Givers
Arrogant Givers
Boastful Givers
Title seeking Givers
Praise seeking Givers
Attention seeking
Wealth seeking Givers

God can not be mocked neither can you bribe God with your giving
If the position of your heart, your walk with God and your Faith in God is not set aright, no matter the amount you give, or the applauds you receive of men when you give it’s all in futility and shambles.

The Question is:
What Kind of a Giver are you?
What is the state of your heart when you give?
Givers never lack but the truth is a grumbling giver will always lack
Why?
Because that which is laid at the feet of the Lord is polluted by a wrong state of heart, wrong purpose and this can never be accepted by God even if it’s accepted before men, the blessing that proceed from a sincere cheerful giving will never be released upon such.
For the heavens are closed and shut up, hence there is nothing to water the seed placed before God to birth other fruit of blessings.

Don’t because others are giving now force yourself to give
Don’t because you don’t want to be left behind the category of those giving, give out of pity or duress
God does not need your self pity when it comes to giving He needs your love birthed out an upright heart towards his assigment and His people.
Don’t because of the praise, class and acceptance of men give for earthly accolades
Give because you are instructed and led by God to give
Let your giving be birthed out of  love for God, love for His assignment and deep love for His people
Anything outside of this is not a Cheerful Giving but a Grumbling Giving
And outside of this is not acceptable nor recognized before God.

Your Giving is essential unto God
It is not optional!
When you give do it as unto the Lord!
Not as unto men for praise, recognition, title or acceptability
Let the giving of your time, substance, skill, professionalism be that which will bring sweet smelling savor unto God

Above all let your giving be done in Praise and Thanksgiving unto God
Not because you expect something in return but because You Love Him and You seek to do that which will bring joy to the heart of the Father.
Be a Cheerful Giver for such the Father seek!

2 Corinthians 9:7
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Matthew 6:1-4
1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
